Burgundy. I have said it before, but I will say it again. I’m obsessed with burgundy. And I know, the winter is long over, but I have been loving dark red with beige as well. Turns out I didn’t have a pair of burgundy shoes (actually, wait, I do have a pair of buttery soft suede, burgundy Dolce & Gabbana boots, but they are not for spring/summer). So, to make your, and my, life easier, I spent hours scrolling online to narrow down the options.
THE INSPO
Specifically, I started looking for slingbacks instead of pumps because I saw this photo on the Paris Texas Instagram. I am still not sure where the tights are from, but I found a very similar pair at Calzedonia, so that was done. Now, I just needed to find the shoes.
Turns out the Paris Texas Lidia 105 slingbacks in rouge noir patent were sold out in my size online. I went to El Corte Inglés on Calle de Serrano in Madrid, and they had a pair in 39. Great! That’s my regular size. I tried them on, and while I size up to a 40 in Paris Texas boots, there’s a thing about slingbacks… if they are too big, they will just sling right off. And that’s what happened with the Lidia slingback for me. I searched high and low for a pair in size 38, but could not find it. If you are considering the Lidia Slingback, my advice is thus to size down. They are beautiful, very similar to the YSL Kiss slingbacks 105 I have in black patent and beige nappa leather. And half the price compared to the YSL ones.
AND THEN I SAW THESE…
You know me when it comes to shoes, if I can’t get what I am looking for, consider me devastated. But then, I saw these. The Gucci Guinevere 105 slingbacks with crystal details. Just wow… I have no words. So much so, I was actually torn between black and burgundy, but then thought that for the black, I already have the Jimmy Choo Bings 100. I got a 39 in the Gucci ones and recommend going true to size. In fact, I am still smitten – the number of TikToks I made in the process will probably show that… (I also need to be extra careful with them – the crystals move back and worth when you walk, and could easily be damaged if you bump into something).

Also, I think that after seeing the Zara photo below, I will be styling burgundy with chocolate brown even more… enjoy!
