I’m a statement earring kinda gal. Always have been. Always will, I guess. Don’t get me wrong – I wear a lot of minimalistic, simple studs to work, but when it comes to a glam look, statement earrings are my go-to.
I have been looking for a pair of chunky, heart-shaped earrings for a while now. On our last trip to Lyon, I went treasure hunting at France’s second-largest market, Les Puces du Canal. “Bienvenue dans un lieu où tout est possible,” welcome to a place where everything is possible, as the @pucesducanal Instagram account acclaims…
And so it was, I met a wonderful Madame, owner of Le Gaga Vintage. Amidst horse-printed Hermès scarves and tweed-covered Chanel shoes, I found them: a gorgeous pair of silver heart-shaped vintage earrings. “Oh, you are from Madrid!” the Madame exclaimed. Turns out she loves Spain, especially Madrid, and gave us a special price that was too hard to resist.
A piece of Lyon came home with me. The vintage beauties are just the right size – not too oversize, and not too small. Pair them with another one of my go-tos: a little black dress, you can never go wrong with that. Voilà, the perfect date night look. Merci, Madame.
In fact, I like them so much that I am now looking for a gold pair and have been scrolling online to see what’s out there. And so I thought I’d share what I’ve found, just in case you’re looking for a heart-shaped pair, too.

Slightly smaller than the rest, but the diamonds are the statement here. They are set in 18k gold. Yvonne Léon is the youngest daughter from a jeweller’s family and she knows what she is doing.

Moschino | Heart-shaped clip-on earrings
Farfetch has quite a number of Moschino heart-shaped earrings. These are my favorite, the quilted detail is unique and the rope-style edge finishes them off perfectly. And they’re a clip, if you haven’t pierced your ears.

Careful, these are sold as single earrings. Since I don’t have multiple ear piercings, I guess I would buy two, but those of you who do could wear them as part of your stack. The cubic zirconia stones are also a more affordable alternative if you don’t want to splurge on diamonds.
