It has been an intense summer of walking, hiking and biking, and nothing can stop us from continuing the same practice during the fall season as well. The best fall shoes can make the transition from questionably supportive footwear to laces and buckles all the more bearable. Here, I compiled a list of cold-weather appropriate footwear that fulfills the season’s dressing needs of utility and style.
Utilitarian boots are known to be one of the most ‘practical shoes’ in the industry. When you think about these boots, usually the idea of durability comes to mind. There are a number of sensible options to choose from, some include: combat boots, over the knee boots, hiking boots, ankle boots and many more. No matter what style or vibe you are intending, any type of boots will help add an edge to your outfit. It is quite versatile and can easily be paired with dresses, or denim jeans.
Here are some commonly worn examples of boots:
Duo Buckle Leather Boots from & Other Stories for $229 USD

Like the above-mentioned boots, loafers are also a great addition to have in your collection. Each season welcomes new and fresh iterations of loafers, with blocked heels, faux croc/leather, shiny buckles and many more. They’re a comfortable, yet chic pair of shoes for city living. It is quite diverse and can be paired with various outfits and can be worn during any season.

If you are looking for a reliable pair of shoes that can be worn for any occasion or with any outfit, then sneakers are a great option. You should consider adding a classic white or black sneaker into your collection. It is a smart option as you can style your look up or down depending on your comfort level and intended event. You could invest in a regular pair or the new slip-on edition, either would work with any garment. A new trend that has popped up are adding select accent colors to your shoes (customization) in places like laces, the souls of the shoe and more.
