Using Vaseline for your eyelashes is one of the hottest DIY trends right now. There are thousands of websites with this one ultimate DIY that assures you longer lashes. But the question is, does it actually work? Here’s my experience of using Vaseline on my lashes for 2 months and the results.
Usage and Results
In short: no, it didn’t work. I followed all the instructions, and I even used a mascara brush to apply it properly. But, I got zero results – hence, it’s a myth. None of my friends saw results either.
The Science Behind It
Studies have shown that each eyelash has a certain growth range, after which the threshold is reached, it stops growing. If a lash falls out, another one from the follicle will grow back to almost the same length, but not longer. So, the application of Vaseline will not affect the length of your lashes.
The Right Use of Vaseline
Vaseline can moisturize your lashes and make them look thicker temporarily. You can also use it to safely remove mascara.
